Nurse's Office. Katie seated alone. Nurse meets Aron at the door.
Nurse, shakes her head, raising her eyebrows. Low voice. "That girl's the real delinquent, if you ask me. Turning her own sister in? That's low."
Aron looks down at her coldly. "She did what she thought was right." Loudly enough for Katie to hear, then drops his voice. "And neither my daughter or I appreciate the commentary, thank you."
Nurse nods quickly, opens her mouth to offer apologies, but Aron has already moved on.
Katie. Angrily. Still close to tears. "What are you doing here? I don't want to be in the same house as those"--
Aron cuts off her words by pulling her into a hug.
Katie starts crying again. "I don't want to see any of them. They hate me now."
Aron holds her tighter. "No. No, they don't. They were angry today, and Dray said some things he didn't mean, okay? No one hates you, sweetheart. Let's go home. Do you have your books?"
Katie nods, sniffs, grabs her backpack. Aron follows her out the door.
